Grants

Purpose

To provide counties/clusters with funds and incentives to plan and conduct Minnesota 4-H horse program educational activities.  If counties/clusters agree to meet the requirements explained below, they can apply to the Minnesota 4-H Horse Association for grant money to help cover expenses as long as funds are available.   Activities must be more than riding lessons.  To receive the full $300 grant all Application Forms with attachments and Financial/Evaluations must be received within the time specified.

 

Grant Procedure

  1. To MN 4-H Horse Association
    1. December 1st or 30 days prior to event.
    2. Postmarked 45 Days following event/activity.
      • Financial/Evaluation Report
  2. Educational Goals
    • Two realistic and measurable goals that meet your groups educational need. Include them on the schedule.
    • Complete written evaluation of those activities following your event.
  3. Content
    1. Present information and answer questions about the MN 4-H Horse Project (project requirements, rule book, library, web site etc.) minimum 1/2 hour.
    2. Include at least 2 or more of the following topics. Minimum 1/2 hour per topic.

Record Keeping Hoof Care
Judging, Hippology or Bowl Teams Dan Patch
Training Program Riding Attire
Horseless Horse Stable Management
Achievement Program First Aid and Safety
Speech/Demonstration Western Heritage
