Horseless Project
Horseless Horse is a project involving those members whose family does not have a horse. It is a good introduction to horses and provides the opportunity for those who do not have a horse. Each county offers different activities in their Horseless Horse Project.

Horseless Horse exhibits are a part of the State 4-H Horse Show. Horseless Horse participates at the county level and needs to at least receive a blue ribbon on their project at the county level to participate at the State Show.
The quota for each county is at least two trips. If between 15 and 28 members are enrolled, an additional trip is available. and if over 29, a fouth trip is awarded.
This project offers the opportunity to study and learn about the horse. You will gain knowledge of major breeds, colors, gaits and safety. The project will enhance your appreciation for the value of the horse and give you an understanding of care requirements. You will develop sportsmanship, responsibility, cooperation, decision making skills and public speaking skills, (fun) halter/showmanship clas at the fair, and participate on the the Bowl, Judging and Hippology teams.
Requirements
- Keep records, including any horse related activities, books read, etc.
- Having a host family with horses is encouraged. The 4-H'er works with this family, learning about horses, how to handle them, possibly riding.
