Paint Horse Essay Contest
WIN A PAINT HORSE 2010
Shadow Creek Ranch, Woodville, WI, in cooperation with the Minnesota 4-H Horse Association announce the eleventh WIN A PAINT HORSE competition open to all Minnesota 4-H members actively involved in the 4-H horse project.
Shadow Creek Ranch will donate one weanling horse guaranteed to be sound and correct in conformation, of good disposition and bloodlines, a negative coggins test, and be eligible for registration (non-breeding stock) with the American Paint Horse Association.
Contest Rules:
Contestants to submit a one page ONLY typed essay on what ownership of this horse would mean to them including how they would provide care, the environment in which the horse would be raised, and any other pertinent and/or human interest information they wish to share. Entries should be sent to the Minnesota 4-H Horse Association between January 1st to September 3rd, 2010. Consent and Release of Liability form, available at www.mn4hhorse.com, must be completed and accompany the essay. Incomplete entries will not be reviewed.
Upon receipt entries will be blinded and a review committee, comprised of personnel from the Shadow Creek Ranch and the Minnesota 4-H Horse Association will select five finalists. The finalists will than be interviewed by phone to select a winner. The five finalists will than attend the Win A Paint give away at the 2010 Minnesota State Horse Show where we will announce the winner at that time and the transfer of ownership and presentation to the winner will occur at that time.
It is the expectation of Shadow Creek Ranch and the Minnesota 4-H Horse Association that the winner agrees to bring the properly cared for horse to the 2011 State 4-H Horse Show for exhibit and related special events; successive shows is an option. Previous winners are ineligible.

Contest Deadline: Entries will be accepted between January 1st-September 3rd, 2010. A complete entry consists of the essay and completed and signed “Consent and Release of Liability Form”.
