Horse Related

Horse Related is part of the Horse Project.  You create a project that does not use a horse.  It can be equipment that you will use, a report or display on research you have done, or anything else you can think of.  It just needs to be 'horse related'.  The same type of projects that members of the Horseless Project do.

Requirements

You must be enrolled in the Horse Project.  As a result you must keep records of your horse activities and are encouraged to use the Achievement program.   Each county has a quota of two per county.

State Horse Show

Projects

This project offers the opportunity to study and learn about the horse. You will gain knowledge of major breeds, colors, gaits and safety. This project will enhance your knowledge as you are caring for your own horse. You will develop sportsmanship, responsibility, cooperation, decision making skills and public speaking skills.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a trip to the State Horse Show you must:

  1. Be registered as a member of the Horse Project.
  2. Have received a blue or purple ribbon on your exhibit at county fair.
  3. Not have accepted a horse quota trip for either the Horse Show or the Training Project.  Training Step 6 and Achievement Level 6 don't count, since they are not quota trips.
    1. If a trip would otherwise go unused it may be filled with a member taking a horse trip.  Best project first.
    2. Under no circumstance may a member taking a horse be awarded a trip if there are eligible members that are not taking a horse trip.
