Winter Roundup
Winter roundup is Winter Leadership Camping Experience for Youth and Adult Leaders You won’t want to miss this tremendous opportunity to learn more about the 4-H Horse Project’s activities. Winter Round Up includes three days and two nights of learning, sharing information and having fun. This forum is designed for adult leaders and 4-H parents.
Judge's Certification
Every spring a Minnesota 4-H Horse Judges Seminar is held where new people can apply to become a Certified 4-H Horse Judge or Certified 4-H Judges can be recertified.
Knowledge Bowl
The Project Bowl is a knowledge bowl contest between 4-H'ers on two teams. The Regional contests are usually held in March at 4 locations around the state. The State contest is held in April. All project areas, including Dairy, Goat, Dog, General Livestock, Horse, Poultry, Rabbit, are held at the same time.
National Contests
Winning Bowl teams, Hippology teams, Judging teams, and Speech and Demonstration winners can compete at a national level.
Expo Tack Sale
The Tack Sale at Minnesota's Horse Expo is held annually at in St Paul at the State Fairgrounds. The sale is managed by Minnesota 4-H Horse Association and is their major fund raising event.
Dan Patch Award
Since 1966, one member of the 4-H horse project has been awarded the Dan Patch Award. The award is based on the individuals overall achievement, leadership, and service.
State Horse Show
The State 4-H Horse Show is the largest youth show in Minnesota. It is organized, managed and funded by the Minnesota 4-H Horse Association and volunteers.
