Horseless Horse Project

Chairman: Cathy Giefer

Horseless Horse is a project involving those members whose family does not have a horse. It is a good introduction to horses and provides the opportunity for those who will never have a horse. Each county offers different activities in their Horseless Horse Project. When registering the Horseless Horse Project, look under Exploring Animals.

Horseless Horse exhibits are a part of the State 4-H Horse Show.

 Project Material

Horseless  Member Booklet
Horseless Leaders Guide
Minnesota 4-H Horse Program Rule Book

Requirements

  • Keep records, including any horse related activities, books read, etc.
  • Having a host family with horses is encouraged. The 4-H'er works with this family, learning about horses, how to handle them, possibly riding.

This project offers the opportunity to study and learn about the horse. You will gain knowledge of major breeds, colors, gaits and safety. The project will enhance your appreciation for the value of the horse and give you an understanding of care requirements. You will develop sportsmanship, responsibility, cooperation, decision making skills and public speaking skills.

Please contact the chairman if you have questions.
